Ram 2500 stuck in 4th gear

Dysfunctional computer system. Mud accumulated in gear operating system. Accumulation of debris and rocks under the cable hooks. Failure of the transmission system and solenoid. Excessive wear and tear with little or no maintenance. RAM 1500 Shifter stuck in reverse. Activate the Limp mode on RAM 1500.

Restart the engine. If you have an emergency that must be attended to and your vehicle gets stuck on the 4th, it may be horrible. For a temporary fix, restarting the vehicle will be fine. P0882 and truck stuck in 4th means you are not getting 12V power from the Trans Relay (in the Totally Integrated Power Module [TIPM]) to the trans. The PCM sends a signal (at startup) to tell the Trans Relay to close, which then feeds 12V power to the trans. P0218 is a fluid temp issue. P0988 is also a fluid pressure issue. The last 3 will most likely be caused by the first. You can't get it to work in any gear other than 1st when you start from a stop and 4th. That's what limp mode is. The truck is protecting what's left of the transmission.
