The South Dakota Chamber will be hosting the 35th Annual Business Day at the Legislature Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the Ramkota RiverCentre in Pierre.
 

AGENDA

11 AM – Legislative Briefing by State Chamber President David Owen

12:15 PM – The Business Day Luncheon featuring guest speaker Narayana Kocherlakota, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis
12:15 PM – Alternate Lunch Option - Young Professional’s Luncheon with guest legislative speaker

1:30 PM – Seventh Annual Business Caucus Program featuring guest emcee former television personality Mitch Krebs of POET.  The time of this popular event has been pushed back in the afternoon to allow communities the opportunity to meet with their local legislators and not miss out on participating in the Caucus.

2:45 PM - Time at the Capitol to observe the legislative process

5:30 PM – Economic Developer’s Reception and Manufacturer’s Digital Showcase

Join statewide leaders at a reception co-sponsored by the State Chamber and local economic development offices and view a digital showcase of the South Dakota manufacturing industry

6:30 PM – Business Day Banquet with the evening’s special guest speaker former NATO Allied Supreme Commander, Europe, General Wesley Clark (ret.)

 

The Chairwoman of the Business Day program is Dawn Morris of Morris, Inc. in Fort Pierre.  Business Day at the Legislature provides a forum for business and community leaders across the state to come to Pierre and participate in activities that pertain to the legislative process.

 

REGISTRATION:  Full registration for the day (programs, luncheon, reception and dinner) is $80 if paid on or before February 15, and $85 for registrations received after February 15.  Early registration for the reception and banquet only is $65 for those received on or prior to February 15, and $70 after that date.  Registration for the morning session, luncheon and Business Caucus only is $40. 

 

Invitations will be mailed later this month and the online registration system will be active by January 14.
