The 2013 Economic Outlook Seminar is set for Thursday, November 7 (8:30 AM to 1:30 PM) at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.  Dr. Ralph Brown will kick off the event with his annual economic report, with featured updates on agriculture, energy and how South Dakota depends on the federal government.  Dr. Brown is with Economic Analysts & Associates of Vermillion, is Professor Emeritus of Economics at USD and is the chief advisor to the Governor's Economic Advisory Council.

The agenda will focus on how changes to health care will impact the economy.  Discussing the Affordable Care Act is Dr. Michael Morrisey, Professor of Health Economics and Health Insurance, University of Alabama at Birmingham; Director of the Lister Hill Center for Health Policy; Co-Director of the Center for Outcomes and Effectiveness Research and Education; and Past Chief Economist for Healthcare.

The program also includes a luncheon with keynote speaker Deb Bowman, Senior Advisory to Governor Daugaard and former Secretary of the Department of Social Services under Governor Rounds, speaking about South Dakota's Medicaid Task Force.
